Cognitive distortions, seeing things as a bit more negative than they really are, we all get them and can make our naughty list grow and grow.
We are even better than Santa at finding ours/heirs naughty sides-full volume!
Our emotional reasoning around the holidays can make our judgements became enflamed in distortions. So we only remember the "Naughty" sides.
It feels intense so it really is accurate. Being mean or critical to ourselves because of our nervous activations that have been "proven." Yes, they are real. Our mind spins the story. Can we witness the story without crucifying ourselves or that person?
Honor the fact that your feelings or valid, however our perceptions of judgement can be coming from someplace that is un-healed and punishing. Like they say the "devil is in the details" which is the story wrapped up in the emotional response.
Who(se) expectations are writing out on our naughty and nice lists?
What would it take to be on our nice list to ourselves and others to zoom out and witness the pattern, process, or misunderstanding?
