Will the pain of what I am going through consume me, or build me up? It is the easy choice to let our fears and problems follow us into our mornings and sit with us, the strength and dignity comes by not allowing these horror stories define our days. Although our struggles can seem as if it is the only path that is real, there are others we can walk toward one moment at a time.

Don’t be pushed by your problems, be transformed by them and led by your ambitions

It’s not just enduring these worries secretly as strength, it is transforming the weight. If we have faith in our ability to problem solve and the belief in relief that will eventually come, this can tame the fear. The weight can also be transformed through recognition and utilizing our resources. We can honor what happened, understand what it taught us, and then choose where our energy goes next.

There have been people I have shared laughs with, great times at work only to later discover that there were significant parts of their personal lives I knew nothing about. In one case, I discovered their husband is in jail and I could barely believe how they are still able to laugh. It gave me an immense respect for that person.

Expanding our identity with dignity in action; can look like the micro decisions we make to not go down that rabbit hole of worry with no end in sight.

Recognition allows pain to be witnessed without giving it control. We can acknowledge it, breathe through it, and continue moving toward what else is available for us. We don't have to search for the pain, protect ourselves from every possibility of it, or keep reliving it.

If we can expand from that very narrow point of heaviness into another possibility, and feel deeply without getting lost or swept away in it we are then returning to dignity one moment at at a time.
